One library for every asset, everywhere in the product
The Flowics Assets Library gives teams one place to store and reuse logos, backgrounds and media. I designed it end to end. It launched at NAB 2022 and grew into a picker used across the whole platform.

Context
Flowics is a cloud platform for live broadcast graphics, later acquired by Vizrt and renamed Viz Flowics. Every graphic needs assets: channel logos, backgrounds, sponsor images, image sequences. The library was presented at NAB 2022 and enabled for all Flowics Graphics users.
Role
Product Designer, solo and end to end: benchmarking, flows, UI and the reusable picker, with reviews from the Lead Designer, the CTO and peers. It was my first large project on the product team, and I demoed it live to customers at the Flowics booth at NAB 2022.
The problem
The same logo, uploaded again and again.
There was no place to keep assets. Users uploaded the same logo into every graphic, or pointed to external URLs that could break or change without notice. Nothing was shared across a team, and every copy counted against storage, which depended on the customer’s plan.
The library also had to fit the existing permissions model, open from anywhere an asset is needed, and stand on its own as a section of the product.
Decision 1
Start from tools people already know.
I studied file storage tools, mainly Google Drive, and kept what users would recognize without being taught: Team assets, Favorites, Recents and Trash in the sidebar, and a plain file list with name, type and creation date. The same layout works as a modal picker and as a standalone section from the main menu.
Decision 2
Team assets, not personal folders.
Assets live at the team level. That matches how permissions already worked, and it lets people share one file instead of duplicating it, which matters when storage depends on the plan.

Decision 3
Details that matter on air.
Selecting a file shows a preview, including media, plus its size, resolution, creation date and URL, with an option to open it in a new tab. The panel can be hidden. I treated file size as key information: a heavy image inside an on-air graphic is a performance risk, and this is where an operator can catch it before it reaches air.
Decision 4
Uploads that never block the work.
Several files can be uploaded at once and followed in an upload monitor. Uploads can be cancelled, and they keep running even after the modal is closed, so nobody has to wait to get back to the graphic.

Decision 5
Ship the essentials, keep the door open.
Right-click actions and drag and drop, both to upload and to reorganize, were proposed but didn’t fit development capacity. Their actions went into a single actions menu, so the features could arrive later without changing the layout. For keyboard users, I got arrow-key navigation between files into the first release, so people can scan a folder quickly.
The outcome
From a feature to a platform component.
The library launched at NAB 2022 and was enabled for every Flowics Graphics user. It then spread beyond graphics to Rundown Control, Pages (the web editor), Flows and Mechanics. The design system turned it into a picker that opens wherever an asset is needed. It even runs inside the newsroom MOS plugin, adapted to that tight space.
